Quality control at IAPA
НThe annual international IAPA conference on September 4-6, 2006, in Milan adopted the Quality Control Policies and Procedures Manual for Association members, effective since January 1, 2007.
To maintain and raise the image and prestige of IAPA membership, it is imperative for all Association members to adhere to high professional and ethical standards. All business orders received by member firms through IAPA are subject to monitoring by the Quality Committee. The Association has in place a procedure for reviewing claims against its member firms or their violations of the rules of conduct stipulated in the Association's Articles and other internal regulations.
The adopted Quality Control Policies and Procedures Manual describes the procedures practiced at the Association in the following areas:
Admitting new members;
Requirements for continued membership;
Monitoring of business orders received through the Association;
Disciplinary issues and claims review.
The manual also requires all IAPA members to comply with IFAC standards in audit or their national standards where they are more rigorous.
For continued IAPA membership all its members must constantly comply with the following requirements:
Maintain documented quality control;
Have their quality of service appraised by experts;
Immediately notify the Board of Directors about any court action affecting them;
Procure professional liability insurance;
Participate regularly in international and regional conferences;
Perform administrative requirements;
Complete and submit a yearly questionnaire to the IAPA Administration.
Should IAPA members violate quality standards, one of the following disciplinary measures may be imposed depending on the severity of the violation:
A requirement for firm employees to undergo training in specific subjects;
A requirement for the firm to use an outside expert on specific assignments;
Prohibition to fulfill some types of assignments received via the Association;
Any other action the International Council may deem necessary, including expulsion recommendations in case of grave violations.
